BROWSE

Originally from North London, Andrew Cotton received his formal art education at the prestigious Central Saint Martins School of Art in Holborn, London. Growing up during the height of the UK graffiti boom, he was deeply influenced by the pioneers of the British street art movement. At 24, driven by ambition to establish himself internationally, Cotton relocated to New York City, where he found new inspiration in the aesthetic of American street culture and the evolving global art market.

His work now appears in galleries across the United States, luxury hotels, corporate headquarters, and distinguished private collections.

Generations of Craftsmanship & Printmaking

Though Cotton’s repertoire spans contemporary portraiture, urban landscapes, and mixed-media abstractions, a thread of authenticity runs through all of it—one rooted in generations of craftsmanship. His father and grandfather owned a printing company in East London, producing design and print work for major retail and fashion brands. From an early age, Cotton was immersed in the techniques of block printing, offset press, silkscreen, and commercial print production. These formative experiences directly inform his signature use of wheat-pasting, distressed posters, layered paper, and mixed-media construction.

A Return to Heritage: The Jewish Direction

While Cotton’s career has explored a wide range of cultural and contemporary imagery, his Jewish identity and spiritual heritage have always been central to his creative compass. Over the past 25 years, he has continually woven Jewish themes—ancient, mystical, historical, and modern—into his work. In recent years, this direction has become the core of his practice.

His newest body of work is a bold, unapologetic celebration of:

  • Jewish history and survival

  • Torah-based spiritual truth

  • Modern Jewish identity and resilience

  • Kabbalistic symbolism and ancient text

  • The visual language of Israel—past, present, and eternal

This new chapter represents not a shift, but a return—a homecoming to the themes that have shaped him since childhood. It is a fusion of his London roots, New York grit, printmaking lineage, and lifelong connection to Jewish culture.

Today, Andrew Cotton continues to push this narrative forward, creating powerful, culturally resonant, spiritually charged artworks that speak to both tradition and the contemporary moment.
